Post text showing on a category page

I'm setting up a portfolio using BeTheme Resume. Everything seems to be working except for one small hiccup.
When I view my category pages - say there are 3 pages - the last category page always displays the post text of the first post listing on that page. This shouldn't be the case. I've run into this issue before and can't remember the fix

Thanks in advance for your help.

  • Hi,

please send us link to page where this happens so we can have a look on it and check where the problem might be.
  • Howdy, I had to wait for the site to be completed and uploaded before I could send a link. but here is a direct link to a page that does not display correctly.

Since i have all posts showing on the page, it is the same as being the last page, so the post text shows. If I show only a few custom posts then the post text only shows on the last page in the sequence.

I've run into this issue before on your themes so I assume there just needs to be a tweak made to the page template for this type of display.

Right now I don't have any other plugins installed to conflict - this is a theme-only install.
  • As we can see, you forgot to set Portfolio page and also forgot to set this
portfolio page as portfolio under Theme options > Blog, Portfolio
    & Shop > Portfolio section.
  • Ok that works mostly fine but I noticed a couple hiccups.
If I have the Portfolio/Items per page setting set to show a number less than the total portfolio items, then your theme creates multiple pages for any portfolio category over that amount.
So lets say 12 is the number to set as visible items with 30 total items. So I have 3 pages of the category.
The problem is the filter setting, when selected, often shows a blank page, until I select a different page in the sequence.
    So definitely a bug there.

And I contend that your categories page template is still bugged since it doesn't work 100% as expected.

But for my purposes, if I set the portfolio display setting to more than I have - say to 50, then the portfolio page works as expected and the filters work as expected - so good for my purpose.

    Thanks for the assist.
  • I take that back - doing the settings you suggested does indeed fix the problems as long as I have my Items per page set too higher than actual items. So all is working perfectly as long as I don't allow multiple pages.

  • This is not a bug. We are pretty sure that you are referring to jQuery filtering which is technically incompatible with pagination. It means that you can not use both at the same time. So if you want to display 12 portfolio items per page but got 30 of them in total so would be 3 pages of them, you must turn off jQuery filtering under Theme options > Blog, Portfolio & Shop > Portfolio section.
