Is there a way to have the title appear on top of the image BEFORE you hover it?

Ok. So to display text before the hover, you need to use an extra css:

.zoom_box .desc {
    background: transparent !important;
    opacity: 1;
}
.zoom_box .desc:hover {
    background: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.5) !important;
}
