Can I add widgets or something to empty menu area?
The library only wants Home, Research, Services, About and Special Collections on the menu. That's it. Using the Classic one, wide layout. Now there is excessive white space since half the menu bar is basically not needed. Is it possible to use that space? Put an RSS feed/widget there -- Houston weather, saying of the day, something? Looks bad being empty. How can I make use of that space for something? Thank you! Emily

what you ask for requires files customization what in reference to Item Support Policy is not allowed. So if you want to modify files and don't know how, you should contact with your web developer.
