You must did something wrong then because we tested it on our side and it works. Maybe you pasted it in the wrong place? Each custom css supposed to be pasted under Custom CSS & JS > Custom CSS section.

If you paste above css under Theme options > Custom CSS & JS > Custom CSS section, this space would be removed from all pages.
