Question on Firm website

i am studying the Firm website, in the home page one of the sections has a backbround set to
/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/home_firm_pattern1.png

Anyway when i open this image in Gimp I see that the various drawings (musical note, attachmetnt symbol, ...) are drawn with a very thin line, anwyay when wordpress renders the background the line seems ticker.

I hope this allows to express me better: https://postimg.org/image/jn4djyjwn/

How this is achieved?

I hope i expressed my self

  • i add more info:

I tried to remove the background image (home_firm_pattern1.png) and add it again by uploading it from the add media section.

When i preview the page now the icons seem "skinny", as you can see here:

I saw that in the section these atttributes are used too:
    1) background color: rgba(6,12,23,.7)
    2) custom CSS: section-border-top
anyway i do not see how both can help in making the icons bolder

    I hope i expressed myself

    Hi,

we are sorry but we do not have any impact on how Wordpress renders images. The images were made with photoshop and then uploaded into Wordpress but the whole process is handled by WP itself. Anyway, if you send us link to page where you would like to make those icons bolder, we will see if this could be handled with custom css.

    Thanks!

  • I see, so somehow some magic happens. it is not a big issue for me, i can make myself a similar image with bolder icons, i just wanted to know whether there was an "hidden" theme feature.
  • I come back on this issue. I made a video to demonstrate better my question:

    the video  basically shows that:
    1) if i use the same image in a new section it works fine
    2) as i modify the image and use it the behavior is bad

Plesae consider i am not an expert user so maybe i am doing a basic mistake. Thanks.
  • We see what you mean but this must be something related with compression on software side that you used for files edition. This has nothing to theme for sure and there is also nothing what we can do to help you in this matter.
  • After watching my video i realized that i was using the wrong image.

in fact the folder contains several images with different resolution, but for some reason
in the muffin builder /sectino /background image i see
    content/uploads/2015/12/home_firm_pattern1.png
while home_firm_pattern1.png does not exist, the actual filename is home_firm_pattern1-1-1200x750.png

so this is the issue. now my problem is solved.
  • Great, we are glad to know that this has been solved :)
