Call To Action Button

Hi,

I'm trying to create a call to action that's similar to the "Your 1st Voice Lesson is FREE" in the middle of this page: https://www.alexysparisproductions.com/. However, the call to action shortcode seems very bland with little functionality; I must be missing something. So instead, I thought to just use an image with a caption, but a strange white box appears and obscures the image when attempted to click on the image here: http://singlikethepros.com/. Any reason for this? I'm not sure why the linked box appears when attempting to click on it.
