Blog Layout on Mobile & Responsive Featured Images

Hi there,

I have a couple of questions please :)
  1. Is there a way to adjust the white space around each of the blog posts in the screenshot provided, effectively making the image span the entire screen size, no matter what device it is being viewed on?  I played around with the settings under Responsive, but nothing seemed to work.  I have this 'News' page set to Masonry Blog style. image
  2. Do you have any advice on what sizing might be good for Featured Images on the main blog page (not individual posts), so that the fit neatly in the top area on any screen size?  As you can see, I made them uniform at 386x217px, but the area is left with blank space when I'm on a larger screen.  Here's a screenshot:image
Thank you so much for any help you can give :)
Cheers, Jenny
