rename post types

Is there a way to rename the custom post types available under Global Advanced:

• Clients
• Layouts
• Offer
• Portfolio
• Slides
• Templates
• Testimonials

I would also be interested to rename "Posts" -- what do you recommend that I do? These post types do not fit with the type of content we'll be creating on our website, and I'd like to offer my client a more intuitive word so they aren't confused. For example, "News" or "News Release". We do not have a  live website yet, and only at the beginning stages of setting it up.
