recent post with image

Hi there,

I'd like to use recent post widget showing the image of the article, in addition to part of the text. A thumbnail would be perfect.

Is that possible with the existing widgets or should I use an external one?

yes, we have such item. It's called Muffin Recent Widget. You can see this on http://themes.muffingroup.com/betheme/ in the bottom where Latest posts section is.
