Overlay an Info box over layerslider

I have a client that is wanting a layout similar to the image attached. What they like is to have several boxes that are overlaying the slider. I now there is not anything out of the box, but is it possible to have lets say icon box then have it overlay the slider.

I have played with some of the code but not luck, maybe i am missing something? any thoughts or ideas would be great.
