how can i space out my menu/nav items on the header ?

Hi,

to set spacing between menu items, you need to set up main menu under Appearance > Menus > Manage locations section.

I know that but how would i space the items out like add a padding between menu items .

But the padding would be added automatically if you will set the menu as we told you above. If you set it up already and still don't have padding, please send us link to page where you got this menu.
