Two questions:

1) I am trying to get my menu to look like the: 

Split Menu (Page Options: Custom Menu is NOT supported)

I'm confused about how to make this work. 

When I select that option then go under Appearance < Menu < Main Menu | depth 5 (Header Overlay 1) the menu shifts all to the left.

How do I get two menu items on the right of the logo and two on the left?

2) How do I get rid of the white padding/margin/space under the first image on the page?

Hi,

1) All details about setting up split header type, you can find on http://forum.muffingroup.com/betheme/discussion/7794/how-do-i-creat-a-split-menu-split-header-style

2) To remove this margin, you need to use custom css:

.extra_content .has_content .the_content_wrapper, .extra_content .category_description .the_content_wrapper { margin-bottom: 0 !important; }

Is there a way to make the split header background transparent? Also to make the header not to spread out, move it to the middle. 

Here is an example of what I'm trying to achieve.

Yes, you can enable header transparency under Theme options > Global > General section. But to move it to the middle, you need to use custom css:

.header-split #Header .top_bar_left .menu_left { text-align: right !important; }
.header-split #Header .top_bar_left .menu_right { text-align: left !important; }
