Some blog excerpts show and others not

Hi ... on my news page some excerpts display and others not. If I reduce the excerpt word length to 0 words, most show up without the excerpt but some have [...]. Please could you assist? The URL is http://silverthornwines.co.za/demo_site/news/

    I have figured out that posts that have their content in column short codes, don't have an excerpt but those that have no column short codes, have an excerpt. I have tried deactivating all plugins and deleting the custom css but nothing changes. Thanks, your help will be greatly appreciated.

    No, but this doesn't explain why some were showing and others not. I have used the custom excerpt and have overcome the issue.
