padding around content

I've added sliders to the top of each of my pages.  When i load the pages.  The content is bumped right against the subheader that contains the title and the breadcrumbs.  How can i add more space between the content and that subheader?

I see an option on pages that says remove content padding and an option in the theme options under advanced, but neither do anything.    Content display order under advanced does nothing either.
