Deleting theme w/content in place

Hi,
I saw the question answered about how to UPDATE the BE theme. However, it states to delete and then reinstall. Will this affect any content that is already there? Or am I reading the instruction incorrectly. I have a new update but am afraid to do it without knowing whether my site's content will have to be reentered.

Hi,

The sites content will stay intact. Please always backup your website, this is a good practice.

You do not have to delete the files, just replace/overwrite.
