Visual Composer not available in Portfolio Post Type

Hi, I use the portfolio post type for my website and using visual composer, but the visual composer option is not available when creating a new portfolio. Is this something that will be available in the future?

Reason that I want to use visual composer is because the text editor is far more user friendly.
