Remove background from itmes

Hello,

I'm trying to remove the background and pattern from some items i add inside the wrap section by adding ( .class { background-color:transparent; } ) in the custom css box when editing the item but it is not working for me, Kindly advise how to remove the background or pattern in below page from the items ?
