Width of the pictures in the Frame

I want the panorama image with the other pictures to the side. It is already created as a 1/1 picture. The portrait format images are each 1/2 picture. Which setting do I need to change so that a clean conclusion on the sides results?

I just see the possibility to integrate the images into a portfolio item. How can I assign my selection of pictures to a category? So that only the corresponding pictures in the portfolio item are displayed. I have an effect like the Betheme home "Showcase" (http://themes.muffingroup.com/be/showcase/) ?

The images should be left and right in a line. There should be a uniform distance between the images. Similar to the homepage of the Theme: showcase. Optional when touching an image with magnification or zoom effect.
