Social media links in footer not opening in new window.

"Open links in new window" is turned on. I am using the most recent version of Betheme. Click on FB icon in the footer and you'll see FB is loading in the same window:

I just clicked the footer facebook icon and it opened in a new tab. Maybe some server cache is involved ?
