How to add alt tags for all Pictures in Theme?

thank you very much for the great Theme (Betheme Child)!
We want to add alt tags for all images in theme, for all pages. How can we do this?
Can i modify theme files? But then i cant update this theme anymore.
Coud you help please?

All of this can be changed by editing the images in the media library.
There are fields for that.
