Custom Blog and Post layout

Hello, could you help? I created modified single-test-category.php and content-post-test-category.php templates using original single.php and content-post.php files. And put them to root of betheme-child. How to make betheme use modified files instead of original ones?

Hi,
please edit the functions.php file in the child theme and look at the commented instructions at the end.

Thank you for answering. After adding following line to functions.php file in the child theme, site stop to open (just white empty screen). Is there any special file name format to recognise specific category?
I added like this.

The file names and the directory paths must remain the same.

Yes, it works. And one more quastion. This way I can change layout for all blogs, but what to do if I want create two different layouts for two different post categories? Is it possible?

Here is standard grid view. Blog added on page by muffin builder.

But I would like to modify view like this. And do it only for one category. Other categories should have standard blog view.

Sorry but the category pages take options from the main blog page, this will be not possible.
