Issues with Gallery item

Hi,

I have an issue with the gallery item. For some reason, I can only "add" images to a gallery but not remove anything. Even when I add a new gallery item, there are already a few items included. Is there any server side caching or so? In the option panel of the gallery item, I can only browse but not remove anything.

Question for "later": how do I add a light-box around the gallery items like in the "fancy" style gallery shown at http://themes.muffingroup.com/be/theme/pages/gallery/

  • Hi,
when you hover over the image in the gallery item you can remove it by clicking the X

The styles of the gallery can be selected from the dropdown.

    Hi,

the thing is there are no images shown in the item panel nor is the remove all uploads link shown. It looks like no pictures have been selected. Still the gallery item shows some and it's always the same images, even if I place mutliple gallery items on different pages.

I can seeking basic styles e.g. Fancy ... it still won't give me the lightning around the individual pictures. How can I achieve that.

    Thanks a lot!
  • Okay, can you try to disable all plugins first and check again.
  • I disabled all the plugins but no change. The item still looks like there are no images but shows the same images on every page with an image gallery instance. I also checked after activation of plugins but no change ... :(
  • Hey,

Please send us WordPress dashboard access privately thru the contact form which is on the right side at http://themeforest.net/user/muffingroup#contact and we will check what might be the reason.

  • Hi, send the pm as requested.

I'm assuming you mean the link to the website?! It's http://v2.growsailing.com/ let ,e know if you need anything else.

    Thanks!
  • I checked and everything works fine. I have added 4 images in the realization gallery and they showed up. Later I removed one image and now there are 3 available. Where exactly is the problem you are describing?
  • Very interesting ... I could see it worked for you. So, I assumed it must be the front-end, not the server.

I have used Safari so far (Mac as well as iOS) and it does not work. You cannot add or remove images (at least on my browsers) and adding gallery items leads to the results described above. Anyhow, I installed Firefox to test and see if that makes a difference and voilá ... it's working fine. I prefer to work in Safari but using a different browser for gallery items is a feasible workaround for me!

I would still like to know how you configure the light-box effect shown on your gallery page ( http://themes.muffingroup.com/be/theme/pages/gallery/). What I mean by that is those grey translucent borders around the images. It's probably some CSS but I could not work it out. Configuration on gallery item level would be awesome of course. So, how did you guys do that?

And a another question in that regards. There is one image on my gallery in portrait orientation. For some reason that one has a grey box and the filename shown beneath. Why is that / how can I disable it?

    Thank you very much again!
    Benny

  • The borders around the images can be enabled/disabled in theme options>global>general under image frame|border.
The color of the border can be changed in theme options>colors>content.

The text under the image can be changed or removed by editing the image in your media library. It is either the decription or the alt text.
