Reduce height of bar under header

Sorry if I'm using the wrong terminology--I'm very new to Wordpress. In this screenshot, there is a very tall black bar underneath the header. I would like to know how to make the height of the black bar about 80% smaller. I would also like to know how to change the color of the bar. Thanks!

Hi,
go to theme options>header&subheader>header and change the minimalist option to "minimalist without header space"

Thanks! What I'd really like to do is to keep the vertical bar, but make it much less tall. How can I adjust the height of the bar?

It is not really adjustable. You can make it higher just by increasing the logo height and padding to it will stretch the header.

Have you tried adding vertical padding to the logo ? It will make the header biggger.

I don't want the header to be bigger--the problem is that it's too big. I just want a thin black bar and otherwise to be short. For now, I'm using a different header setting entirely, but it's not the way I like it.

Please use the following css to sort it out:

body:not(.template-slider) #Header {
    min-height: 150px;
}
