Subheader image on blog posts

I have a header image set up for each post on the page options in the post editor.
There's no subheader image showing on the feed and on the single posts. I have nothing turn off as far as I can tell. It seems like whenever I fix on thing, something else goes wrong.
It was working fine and then suddenly it stopped working. I want to have the subheader image as cover + title. Thank you!

okay but there is a subheader on all single post pages and in the main blog page,
