Adding revolution slider to the top of posts and blog section ?

When I add a revolution slider to a article/post in the same way I would a normal page... it comes up as the heading image of the post and not as the actual header ... any ideas what I can do to make it work ?

I would like to use a standardized slider throughout the blog section of the site. Tried hard to get it sorted on my own but not managing it.
