Transparent menu background.

I was reading the discussion on the transparent menu colour but when I add the css code it doesn't really change the colour. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or maybe I need different code. Could you please help me? The website is- www.pure-wholesale.co.uk

Sorry, managed to change that. But I still can't find how to make the custom heading on my home page transparent. Suggestions?
