Changing theme files

Hi guys, 

I've made some minor changes to theme's source code and now that it has been updated, all of the changes are gone. 

I know that there is a method to use child theme or something but I never found out how to use it. Can you please help me with that?

Hi,
yes, it is best to use a child theme for that.
Go to your themeforest account and download the full theme package.
There you will find a child theme.zip file which you need to install like you would a normal theme.
So you need to end up having 2 themes installed, the parent one which you should update (inactive) and the child theme which should be active.
And this is it.
