Animated GIF in featured image

Hi!

I'm trying to insert an animated GIF as featured image but the animation doesnt work.  I see that automatically resizes it and renames it no matter if I upload the exact size and I dont have a button to force the full size version.  In the inspector it works if I rename the pic with the original name.  How can I force to use the original file?

sorry but this will be no possible, you can place them anywhere else but not in the featured image field.
