Remove Muffin Group from footer

I have read all the things and know how to do this with CSS however I do not understand why my Appearance > Customize does not show 'Footer' as I have seen here: https://docs.betheme.me/article/19-theme-customizing-site-footer

Hi,
sorry but betheme.me is not our website and it is not connected to the theme in any way.
We also do not use the customize function so you will be not able to do it.

Is there no way to customize the footer text at all?  What if I would like to place backlink to another website or change the copyright to span years ie: 2012-2018?

Then you would have to modify the footer.php file in order to do that.
You can pass HTML in the copyright area so you can paste a link.
