Icons as menu items?

Hello! I found the following guide: [Links visible only for registered users] I see there that you have the option to put icons as menu items instead of text, for some reason, I can't find this option in my wordpress with betheme installed and in use. Any help? If this is not possible anymore, is there a way I could put social network items on the head without having to mess with the template files?
