Folders "media"

How can I create my own folders (for specific parts or topics) in "media" for photos?  

Is there a free plugin available? 

A bigger homepage project needs hundreds of photos, for the different areas / parts / themes and they have to be sorted into individual folders, because otherwise the search for pictures is a life task later.

Library? 

Do you know "Real Media Library"?
