Shop Slider Link Products to Category

Hi there, we're working on a new website and our client really likes how the "shop slider" looks on the homepage. They would prefer to have customers directed to the "category" page rather than the product itself. Is there a way to customize the link on the shop slider?

Or is there a way to create a slider that looks like the shop slider that we could use to direct people to the category page?

the shop slider will not redirect you to a category.

There is an option to build a Slider in Revolution Slider plugin but it takes some time to do so.
