Trying to update an older site

Good Afternoon,

We've got a website we built a while ago which was then passed onto the client, and basically they haven't been keeping the theme up to date (this was before the in built updater as well)

I've tried to manually update to the new version, however upon doing so the menu/header goes missing. For now I've had to revert it to the older theme, just wondering if you had any suggestions?

    Hey Aaron,
    please do this:
    1. Disable all plugins.
    2. Go to the theme folder @ your FTP /wp-content/themes/betheme and remove the betheme folder completly.
    3. Install the newest version of the theme from themeforest.
    4. Clear browser cache.
