Search results page

Hi,

now, when i search a term in the search bar in the header, i visualize a list of items. I would like to change this view from "list" to "grid" with featured image, like in the portfolio list item view... Is that possible? Maybe i don't find the right option in the theme options... 

If there aren't useful options in the Theme options, can I change the layout through code?
