BeTheme file update Error Message

I have an update for BeTheme and went to update it as usual and am getting this error: (PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signature). Any ideas? How do I fix it? I haven't received this error in the past. Here's the full error during download:

  • Hi,

Please contact your hosting provider and check if the current PHP version on your server has CURL enabled.

    thanks
  • Do I want CURL enabled or not? I'd like to know which way I want it before contacting them. Also, updates in the past always worked just fine, is this something new that the latest BeTheme 20.9.8.3. requires?

    Thanks
  • No, it's not new thing.
CURL is important for BeTheme to work.

That's weird that on your previous website this issue won't displayed.
Were they on this same hosting?

Please, contact your hosting provider and do, what I told you in previous post.
    Thanks
  • Hi. cURL is enabled on my domains and has been. cURL version 7.36.0.
I have BeTheme on 2 separate domains and am getting this same error.
My host provider (GoDaddy) said based on the error code it's because either 1) the file format of the update is not supported (not a zip file) or 2) the file is corrupted. Both are per this article: https://docs.presscustomizr.com/article/299-how-to-fix-the-package-could-not-be-installed-pclziperrbadformat-in-wordpress
Host provider also mentioned we are using PHP version 7.2, and asked that I confirm it's compatible with the new theme version?
Please advise as it sounds like my host provider cannot resolve this from their end.
  • The update file is a zip file and it cannot be corrupt because all of the user download it hundreds times daily so we would get quite a big response if anything was not all right.
This is a hosting issue or a plugin issue. Have you tried disabling all of your plugins and then trying to update? Sometimes defence plugins cause this issue as well.
Please do so and let us know.
  • Hi. I deactivated all plugins and tried to update. Same error message. What can I try now? My Host had no ideas what they could change on their end to fix this either...thanks.
  • Hi,

Please go to your FTP, create a php file with phpinfo() function inside and send us a link to that file, your admin login credentials and link to your page privately thru the contact form which is on the right side at http://themeforest.net/user/muffingroup#contact so we can have a look on your server settings. Remember to also send your license key and Wordpress admin login credentials. The problem is probably related to limits but to be sure which one is the reason, we need that link. For more details about file creation, please visit https://mediatemple.net/community/products/dv/204643880/how-can-i-create-a-phpinfo.php-page.

    Notice!
    1. Attach your license key and the WordPress admin login credentials.
    2. Send a link to this discussion, so the email support knows where to look.

    Thanks

Hi. I sent in the information via contact form. Thanks.
Edit: How do you disable all plugins and run the update? I went to plugins-bulk select-deactivate. Then ran update, but got the same error? I also went into cPanel-wp-content-plugins-and renamed it plugins.old. Still same error?
  • We logged in, disabled all of your plugins and ran the update. It all worked great, the problem is somwhere in your plugins. See screen: http://prntscr.com/lwewb4

Please also take a look into your system status. Your hosting settings are low, you should contact your hosting provider and try to resolve this issue as it may cause problems in the future.
You have problems with the zip archive and the max_input_vars value is too low.
    thanks
