In this type of the header, you cannot add anything there.
You can only change the background of this header. Also, you can add the right bar which includes the cart icon and search field, but it will be next to the menu items. Theme Options > Header & Subheader > Extras - disable the hide option of top bar right.
But, the Header Builder is coming out of the Beta soon which will allow you to add icons and even more.
