Child files

Hi guys, I have a small request.

I add some custom code on content-single.php. The problem is that if I want to make the update for the theme, it's disapearing.
My question for you is, how can I add these file in child theme..I tried already to make the structure of folders and files in child theme... but not eaven close. Could you help me in this situation?
