Sort by date in search results + crop and resize featured images

Hello,

I need two helps please, which I did not find in thema options.

1 - Is it possible that the result of the search be sorted by date, from the most recent to the oldest?
Example: If someone type "shirt" in the search, I would like all related posts that appear to be indexed by date.

2 - I would like to understand how the thema criteria works to crop and / or resize the featured images of the post.
Example: In the post grid at my home the images appear square, when I click to see the featured post images is rectangular.
How to setup this? What sizes are used?

Thank you.

  • Hi,
    1) We use the basic search results which comes from WooCommerce.
You would have to edit Wordpress files to make it achieve.

    2) I'm not sure what you're talking about, can you send me a link with this behavior?
Below instruction how to change size of feature images:

There are many types of featured images in the theme, here are
    instructions for changing them:
    1. To change the size of the images used in portfolio/blog, please
    navigate to theme options>blog,portfolio&shop>featured image.
    2. To change the size of the default WordPress gallery images, please go
    to settings>media.
    3. To change the woocommerce images size please go to the customizer
tool in wordpress and change it in the front-end.
    More information HERE

    Notice!
Remember to use thumbnail regeneration after you make your changes. Otherwise, the images will not change their size.

    thanks
  • Thanks for the feedback.

1 - I do not use woocommerce on my site. (http://psol50.org.br/)
Which WP files should I edit in order for the search to be filtered by date?

2 - Sorry, I was not clear. See the pictures to help you understand:

https://prnt.sc/mdul8x here on the post grid the featured image appears square.

https://prnt.sc/mdume4 here the image has been cropped and resized becoming rectangular, causing me to lose important areas of the image. How do I make the image still square here, not cropped or resized?

    Thank you.
  • Hi,
    1) You should edit the search.php file.
    More about this page here:

    2) It's automaticly created by the BeTheme while uploading the image.
To customize it, you would have to edit theme files, which we do not support.
    Thanks
