De-registering theme not possible

Dear support,
I'm supporting a customer's site having changed agency.
We moved to another domain as well. I've read the thread (https://forum.muffingroup.com/betheme/discussion/36219/cannot-register-deregister-your-license-key-use-this-tool#latest) that you have to deregister your domain, but this wasn't possible in the WordPress backend. It says:
"Referer domain is different than registered domain. Please contact us using contact form on our Themeforest profile page:
I tried this one with the formerly used correct domain as well.

Additionally the former registration was done by the other agency with another Theforest account than this one here and so we don't have access to these credentials for managing our licenses (http://api.muffingroup.com/licenses/).
Now we have moved the site to another domain and we bought an additional license, but we can't register as the old domain is registered and can't be de-registered.
I tried switching back to the old domain an deregister it – again without success. Is there a way for hard resetting the license and entering the new one? We need to install a pre-built website and this can't be done in current state.

Thanks in advance

  • Hi,
It can be done only with this API tool you sent us.
Why you cannot deregister it with it?
Don't you know the username and license key of the old license key?
Also, does the old domain still exists?
    Thanks
  • Thanks for your quick reply!

When clicking the button in WordPress backend I get the response:

"Referer domain is different than registered domain. Please contact us using contact form on our Themeforest profile page:"

We don't know the username and license key of the old license.

The old domain still exists and is simply a redirect to the new one. I have switched back to the old domain, but still getting this error. I also tried to add the host www. to it without success.

I'm pretty lost so we bought another license, but we can't use this.

    Thanks for helping me out.
  • Please send this information privately thru the contact form which is on the right side at http://themeforest.net/user/muffingroup#contact and we will check what might be the reason.

  • "fixed" it by reinstalling WordPress and adding the new license. I suppose there have many things gone wrong and the site wasn't in a final state anyway.

    Thanks for your support.
  • I'm glad that you solved it out.
Is there anything else I can help you with?
    Thanks
