Not possible to add new images to image carousel

We would like to add some new images to our existing image carousels. However, since a short time this is not working anymore. I can pick a new image in Media, when I click the blue Add images button to put the images in the carousel, the button freezes and nothing happens.

Please let me know how to solve this.

Please disable all of the plugins(without VC), clear the cache of your browser and check if the issue still exists.
