How do you edit so that the featured image shows the entire photo and does not cut off?

You would have to change the featured image size for all of the images.

But as I assume, this will be not a good solution, because not all of them are made vertically.

Of course, you can use the "Builder" template and insert it as a "Image" item inside with "Full Size" of the image.

How do I remove the featured image so that the option you described above works properly?

What is the best solution to set up the portfolio if not all images are the same size?

1) To remove the featured image, please go to the Theme Options > Custom CSS & JS > CSS and paste that code below:

body.portfolio-template-default .single-photo-wrapper{
	display:none !important;
}

2) You mean in the main portfolio page or in the single portoflio item?
