Struggling to find a "subscribe to blog" plugin that works with theme

I'm trying to collect emails from users so I can notify them when new posts occur.  I have tried Jetpack and Subscribe2 and both of these don't seem to work well.  Are there any you suggest that are simple and have good support?  I've spent two days trying to figure this out and feel it should be simpler than what I'm making it out to be.

As I asume, you want to create the "Newsletter".

Use the "Mailchimp" plugin, it's working fine with our theme and it's user friendly.
