How to get cart icon to appear in header

Right now all I have is the search icon, but I can't find how to add the cart icon to my header-- thanks!

I've been playing with it-- and now, i've got just the magnifying glass with a notification-- if I click the notification, I go to the cart, if I click the glass i get a search...

do you have WooCommerce installed and did you also setup cart icon under Blog, Shop & Portfolio > Shop section?
