remove the author/ page from be theme: {domain name}.com/author/{username}

I had never heard of this before but all of my site with betheme are indexing a page: {domain name}.com/author/{username}

It displays the content added by the author. Currently this is OUTRANKING the home page on one of my site. I would like to change/redirect this to the home page. I have tried editing the functions.php file and a couple of plugins however it is not working.

Any recommendations?

This is basic feature of the wordpress, we didn't touch it in any way.

You would have to edit the wordpress files to achieve that, but unfortunately, we do not provide help with that kind of modifications.
