child-theme css

Hello,

currently im working on my childtheme and i created a css folder inside (child-theme/css). I took the shortcodes.css from betheme/css/shortcodes.css and placed into my child-theme/css/shortcodes.css. I removed some lines there but it doesnt effect the css at all. When i do my changes inside the betheme/css/shortcodes.css it works but not in my child-theme.

Could you please help?

It will surely explain you how it works and how to inform the wordpress which files were changed.
