Muffin Builder and the Post Content

i want to write my own muffin builder function.

So i have to override the Class Mfn_Builder_Front.

Is it please possible to change the method "the_content()" into a protected or public method?

I contacted the DevTeam and they told that, they will change that function to be possible to overwrite.

Right now, you have to wait to the monday, when the change will be applied.

private $post_id = false;
private $content_field = false;

to protected or public?
