Register duplicate theme without down time

We bought the theme and installed it on site #1.  We needed a development environment so we copied the site to site #2 for development purposes.  Next we needed a very similar site so we copied the site to site #3, changed it and then made site #4 for development on site #3.

When trying to update the theme we realized that this was not the proper way to use the license so we bought 3 more copies of the theme.  

I want to apply the 3 new licenses to sites #2, #3, and #4, but from all I've read here the only way is to deregister the license on all of the sites then register each separately?

Is there a way to just do this on your back end without me needing to take the sites down?

If you will deregister your theme it will not destroy your theme - you should deregister all of the domains and then attach license keys for them.

If you are having issues with deregistering your license key, want to
manage your license key or most important, you want to deregister a
website that has been removed without deregistering it first, head to
