Archive and category widgets displaying all

Hey BeTheme,

The Archive and Category widgets I have used in the sidebar on the post pages (like this one https://www.adrianswinscoe.com/2020-the-year-of-the-customer/) will not select that particular month or category and will instead display all posts available.

Hello Tom,

If you select the month in the widget, it will start from this date and show every post which was posted earlier.

This is basic wordpress widget, we didn't change it in any way.

Hi Pablo, It doesn't do that though. If you select April 2018 for example it will display every single post right up to and including Feb 2020. 

The same problem with the cateogories. Select one but it is will still display everything!

Do you have any idea?

Can you check, if the same happen when all of your plugins are disabled?

Also, double check if you set the main blog page in Settings > Reading

Hey Pablo,

I've built a staging server and deactivated all of the plugins but I still have the same issue!! When I change the theme on the staging server the archive sorting does work again leaving me to think it is something to do with the theme. 

Have you come across anything like this before? Do you have any other ideas I can try?!

You had inserted the "Blog" item inside the blog page and not set the blog page in the wordpress settings.

(Settings > Reading)

After removing that item and setting proper blog page it works fine.
