Saving pages on Science theme is verrrryy slow.

I have long since standardized on using Betheme for my client sites. I have plenty of licenses and use these themes all on the same big server which I have full control over.
I recently (last two weeks) downloaded the latest Betheme install and installed the Science theme. I'm still in the process of updating the content on the front page, mainly replacing photos, updating content... much like the demo of the theme.
What I've noticed on this site is that pressing save now takes 30+ seconds every single time. This is really slowing down my development times.
I don't think that it's a server issue because I have 10s of other betheme "installs" on different domains and the most they take to save a page is up to 10secs.
Nothing else seems to be slow on the site (changing Betheme options, updating widgets, etc).
Is there anything else I could be checking to see what could possibly be slowing this down?
