Page 404

Hi,

I have a problem with 404 page. It always automatically redirects to homepage without displaying 404 error page. But I need the 404 page to be functional, there should not be any automatic redirect to any page.

The 404.php file exists and was not modified (default).

Could you help me to solve this issue? Thank you.

Please disable all of the plugins, clear the cache of the browser and check, if the issue still exists.

Please always attach a link so we can check it out. If the page is offline(localhost) then our help will be limited, you will have to contact us when the page is online. Also please make sure that the page is not under maintenance before you provide us the link.
It is always a good idea to also attach a screenshot, for that use services like snag.gy or pasteboard.co

Please go to the Theme Options > Pages > Error 404 and check, if you didn't select the homepage as a 404 page, it should be set to "--select--"

I have sent message with my WP details.

The issue is not related to the WP or the Theme itself, because after switching it to default theme the issue still exists.

I suggest, to check two things:

1) Check if you didn't set any custom rule htaccess for redirecting 404 pages.

2) Check, if your hosting provider does not have any functionalities for the 404 page (like redirect 404's)

I am surprised, we bought 2 Themes and using the same hosting provider for both. One of them is working without any issues, the second one have a problem with 404 page.

We did nothing with htaccess file, they are default for both Themes.

But it's not a theme problem, I've told you that this error appear on the default themes like twentynineteen too.

It must be the hosting issue or wordpress core modifications - our hands are tied in that case, this problem is beyond the theme.
